May 14, 2007 Crimson Midwest Tour, Day 14 Crimson Midwest Tour, Day 14 Today is the last of the Rise demos. Buddy, Nick, and Ryan run the three Rise shops; they all rip and are great hosts. We drove in to Bloomington from Indianapolis and met up with Nick at the shop. They had a really cool window display with an art piece that Kris Markovich had done previously in the center. We hung out at the shop for a while before heading to the park. The park was a concrete with an amazing bowl, and fun street course with a huge bank to wall. Over 100 kids were at the park either skating or hanging out in or around the park. While I was warming up one of the kids dropped right into my shin, which immediately started gushing blood. Over the next 20 or so minutes I was forced to sit and watch the boys and Ryan from the shop rip it up while I tried to stop my shin from bleeding. After a good while of spectating I joined the rest of the guys and skated the bowl for a while. The temperature was in the 80's and rumor had it that the was a waterfall right next to the park, so after the demo Kris Markovich and I decided to check it out. There was a trail right next to the park that led to the waterfall; we found it and dipped our heads in for a quick cool off. Finding a hotel and getting some dinner was the next thing on our agenda, so we gathered the troops and headed out. After dinner some of us headed back to the hotel while some of the other guys talked about getting tattooed. Check in tomorrow and find out what went down.
Check out Kris Markovich, James Atkin, Richie Belton, Rick Eusey, Danny Scher, Jeremiah Babb, Thomas Bonilla, Vince Del Valle, Steve Fauser, Joey Oregero, Charlie Thomas, Nick Yamasato, and Michael Prince tear through the Midwest! |
