May 16, 2007 Crimson Midwest Tour, Day 16! Crimson Midwest Tour, Day 16 Today we have our last demo and it's also the last day of the tour. Most of the crew will be heading out after the demo with Kris Markovich; Jeremiah Babb, Amy were driving to Atlanta and Hutch and Rick Eusey back to Indy. The rest of us would be flying home the following day. Our demo wasn't until later in the afternoon, so we got directions to this old abandoned half pipe. It was about ten feet high with a concrete flat bottom and weird fiberglass trannies. Our original intention was to go there and use the half pipe as a back drop for team photos, but it quickly became a session. This is probably one of the sketchiest things that I have ever skated. After skating the ramp for a while Kris Markovich noticed a couple of poles on the side that could make a possible pole jam if we could bend them down. After uprooting on of the poles on Kris used a giant piece of concrete to bend the pole into submission. Imagine a pole jam with a 10ft gap and an 8ft drop that landed on the flat bottom of a crusty old half pipe! It was retarded. After a couple of a tries, Kris came away with probably the best photo of the trip. Before we took off for the demo we shot the team photos that were our original reason for going there. The park was close to where we were, so it only took us a couple of minutes to get to Riot Skatepark. There were about 50 kids outside of the park waiting for us when we pulled in. We meet the owner Floyd and everyone headed in to the park for the demo. During the tour someone would usually step it up during one of the demos and today it was James. He destroyed the park and was really on point on all of his tricks. I ended up holding up the product toss for a little while, until I made the trick I was working on. After the demo Kris, Amy, Jeremiah, Charlie Dog, Hutch and Rick all took off. Floyd bought the rest of us dinner at an amazing Indian restaurant near the park. After dinner we found a hotel near the airport and kicked it for the rest of the night. The entire Crimson crew would like to thank all of the shops, parks, kids, and friends in the Midwest that made the tour one for the books. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
