May 07, 2007 Crimson Midwest Tour, Day 7 Crimson Midwest Tour, Day 7 Today we heading to Oshkosh, WI for a signing and session with Streets of Fire and Threadz skate shops. The plan was to meet at Streets of Fire for a meet and greet followed by a session at the Oshkosh park. We got to the shop early and the owner, John, took us to lunch before we had to get down to business. We ate at a Mexican restaurant that was near the shop. The place was very authentic including a bit of a language barrier that made the meal a bit interesting, I think that one or two people's meals weren't exactly what they ordered. After lunch we headed back to the shop and hung out for a while and the boys signed autographs, Kris was also giving lessons in the fine art of pen twirling. We met John a few days earlier at 3rd Lair and he pre-warned us about the park we would be skating. The park had been in Oshkosh for over twenty years and was not in the greatest of shape, though there were a few additions to park about a year ago but was still needing a lot more. We can't really say that we hadn't been warned, it was a bit rough with some big cracks spread through out the park along with some very mysterious waxed spots on the ground. One by one the waxed spots took us down, you just had to know where they were in the park. There was a good quarter that ended up being everyone's favorite obstacle in the park and we skated it for over two hours. With the sun starting to go down we threw out some goodies to those in attendance, loaded up the crew and headed to Milwaukee, WI, home of Cream City skatepark!!! Everyone knows how sick that park is so we knew that tomorrow was going to be fun.
Check out Kris Markovich, James Atkin, Richie Belton, Rick Eusey, Danny Scher, Thomas Bonilla, Vince Del Valle, Steve Fauser, Joey Oregero, Charlie Thomas, Nick Yamasato, and Michael Prince tear through the Midwest! |
