Crimson Midwest Tour, Day 8

Crimson Midwest Tour, Day 8

We arrived in Milwaukee last night so we went by Cream City to check out the park and meet the owner Bill. The park is by far one of the best in the country and everyone was really excited to skate the demo tomorrow. Since we didn't have to drive anywhere and our demo wasn't until 6:00 pm, we took advantage of sort of having a day off.

It was really windy outside so street skating was out and Bill recommended the east side of Milwaukee to get some food and check out some some stores in the area and the was also another good skate shop in that area that he recommended. After a few wrong turns and a couple of phone calls we made it to Phase II. The shop is owned and operated by Paul Zitzer's family and happens to be right next door to the Landmark Bowling Alley!! After we said what's up to the shop guys everyone grabbed some lunch. We still had a few hours until the demo which meant it was bowling time.

The Landmark has been around since the 20's and was old school all the way, with pinball machines, a bar with a couple of pool tables, and you have to keep your bowling score yourself. Steve Fauser was claiming that he was going to take everyone out, but when the scores were added it was Kris Markovich that came away with the best score. After two games, some pool, and a little pinball we got on the road and headed back to the park.

The first thing that we all skated was the bowl, the session was a heated one and even included a doubles run with Kris Markovich doing a Frontside Air over Steve Fauser's Back Smith. You'll have to wait to see the photo!!! The street course saw its fair share of action as well with James Atkin getting tech on the rail and Vince Del Valle's lines all over the park.

A good time was had by all and before we left the park we had a few cold ones with Bill and the rest of the Cream City crew and Kris Markovich contributed a some paint to the other great art work on the walls.

Come back tomorrow for another Crimson Midwest Tour from Charlie Thomas!
