Mar 10, 2007 Hurley In Hawaii, Day 9 Hurley in Hawaii, Day 9
Our next stop on the tour was Maui, we packed up our bags and headed for the airport. It's crazy traveling with 10 people, just getting everyone in the van and off to the airport proved to be a mission in itself. Once we were on the road we realized that we were barely going to make our flight. We dropped off everyone at the curb and jammed to return the vans before our flight started to board. We were relieved once everyone was checked in and ready to go so it was mellow for the rest of the day. We arrived on Maui, picked up our vans and headed out to Lahina where we would be staying for the rest of the trip. Upon arriving at our hotel we were excited to see that we were staying on the beach where you could actually swim without cutting your feet to shreds, unlike on the big islands where razor sharp volcanic reefs line every single inch of the coast. We stopped of to visit the shop who was hosting the demo we were doing on Maui and met their friendly skate manager Davey who greeted us with aloha and hooked up Robert Lopez-Mont with a much needed new board. After we hit the shop we went to a spot close by and ended up getting a couple shot's. Robert 3 flipped the gap perfectly and Kris Markovich, who had just flown in, rigged up a crazy pole jam that looked insane. A few of us were questioning if it would work or not but before we could second guess Kris was riding away from the pole jam. Our first day on Maui was good and we were off to a good start for the rest of our trip. Check back here tomorrow for another update from our Hawaiian tour here at 411vm.com
